This is the fourteenth issue of the 'Compendium of Textile Statistics containing data upto the financial year 2004-2005. This publication contains the data of domestics textile industry. The compilations of textile statistics are brought out by the industry associations every year. Nevertheless, such statistics published by a Government department have their own value in terms of authenticity and reliability. Besides, no other publication brought out by various industry associations has this breadth and depth of coverage of all segments and activities pertaining to textiles as this compendium strives to achieve. Most of the past data contained in this compendium have been taken from our earlier publications, data sent to us regularly by the textile mills and other organisations connected with the textile industry have also been made use of.
